Homicidal Steven Davis captures gold in Brookeport
AWA-Heartland revisited Brookeport IL on April 2nd 2005. The evening began with "The Worlds Smartest Man" Gaylord Stevens introducing the fans to Cujo, the newest member of his stable. Stevens immediately challenged anyone in Brookeport to step into the ring with his newest charge. Before any wrestler could answer his challenge, a fan hopped into the ring . Needless to say, Cujo never broke a sweat in defeating the unidentified fan. Stevens was not finished there though, as he once again directed a challenge to the locker room. This time Livewire Mcgwire accepted Gaylord's challenge and came away with the victory.
In the official opener Justin "The Juice" Smart pinned Louie Dynamite after The Juicer.
Next up was a battle between 1/2 of the AWA_Heartland Tag Team Champions Dangerous Donny Sixx and the masked Carnage. It was a hard fought contest but Sixx pulled it out in the end.
In his first defense, AWA-Heartland Jr Heavyweight Champ Tommy Callaway pinned "The Canadian Cannon" Kato Shannon, after a frog splash, to retain the title.
During the first intermission AWA-Heartland owner Will Dixon interviewed Livewire McGwire. The upstart Mcgwire stated his interest in obtaining heavyweight title shot.
After the intermission was a singles match involving 1/2 of the AWA-Heartland tag team champions "The New Age Cowboy" Tony Storm and Convoy member Jimmy Wayne Faygo. Before the match it was anounced that the other members of The Convoy (Rosco Dewayne Harris & Billy Randell Boyd) had been suspended without pay for the night. The stipulation for the match was if Faygo won, The Convoy would get a tag title shot in a steel cage. If Faygo lost, The Convoy would not ever get a title shot. Both wrestlers fought hard, but Storm was victorous in the end after a vicious chairshot.
The semi-main event was Justin "The Juice" Smart, in his second match of the night, taking on the self-proclaimed Canadian National Champion Mike Slade. After several minutes of action, the match acually stopped for a brief dance off between the two. In the end 'The Juice" left with his second win of the night
